WANDRR Motorcycle Tours - Guided/Custom/Self Guided/Group
About WANDRR Motorcycle Tours
If you have ever wanted to tour any of these places by motorcycle but didn’t want to spend the time researching roads, hotels, and restaurants to give you the best experience, and motorcycle tour prices were too high, give us a try.

WANDRR Motorcycle Tours doesn’t use a support vehicle, unless requested, to keep our costs down. We carry a SPOT locator, for emergencies or just if your family and friends want to see where you are for the day. We stay at nice inns or B&B’s and eat at nice restaurants, not top of the line, unless requested, and try to avoid chain hotels.

WANDRR Motorcycle Tours has several tours ready to go, from round-trip tours that start and end at the same place to cloverleaf tours, where you will end the days ride at the same place every night. This eliminates having to pack and un-pack every day, and you still ride a great new road, in a different direction, every day. Most days the ride distance is from 150-300 miles, unless we have a tour that involves needing to get somewhere, then we just ride. We take frequent stops and usually include stopping to see and do the things YOU want to do along the route, which will be decided upon by YOU, based on interviews with YOU, about what YOU think is fun and exciting.
WANDRR Motorcycle Tours are unique in that we will custom tailor a tour for you and your friends. You can pick a tour or destination and if the time permits, we will build your Adventure to suit your vacation schedule. Please give us plenty of time for this so we can make the tour as exciting as possible.
WANDRR Motorcycle Tours has tours of different lengths that we can put together. We know lots of back roads all over the Great Smoky Mountains, and we try to accommodate our customers with the length of tour that fits their schedule. We know of many Inns and B and B's along the route that we can choose from, and many restaurants and diners (great BBQ!) all around North Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee and the Western USA. Our tours last a minimum of  3 days to a maximum of 9 days. What lodging choices WANDRR Motorcycle Tours uses are dependant on the type of tour being done. The costs vary depending on single or double occupancy. Included in the price is the tour guide, all lodging, breakfast and dinner each day, a welcome meeting, and a full itinerary for the entire tour with alternate routes.
My wife and I usually tour two-up, so your significant other will not feel "all-alone with just the guys". While we don’t rent motorcycles, we will help you in obtaining one if you would like us to. We ride with any brand and will help you rent the ride you feel most comfortable on.
This is what your WANDRR Motorcycle Tour will include:
  • Friendly Guide team
  • Primary and Secondary routes
  • Nightly accommodations at Great Inns or B&B's
  • Breakfast and Dinner each day
  • National Park entry fees
About Greg and Melanie
Greg spent his early years in Daytona Beach, Florida, home of THE Bike Week. While being from Daytona, he had a need for mountain riding and a curve in the road. Because of that, he has spent many hours on his bike in the Smokey Mountains from northern Georgia to West Virginia to Tennessee, and also riding the northeast parts of the USA. He has also traveled extensively throughout North America having ridden in all 50 states, most of Canada and Mexico and 20 other countries around the world to date. His next adventures will be in New Zealand followed by eastern Europe.
Melanie grew up in Pierre, South Dakota and has spent large amounts of time exploring the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Wild West. She rides in the pillion position with Greg in all of his motorcycle touring.
We have many years and miles of riding and touring experience.

 Terms and Conditions for
WANDRR Motorcycle Tours
  • What days are the Tours?
Plan on arriving at the starting location the afternoon before the tour departs. We will use the afternoon to get to know each other and talk about the tour. If you are renting a bike, you can also use that time to become familiar with the bike. Your lodging for the evening is included, as is the welcome reception and the evening dinner. The tour will leave in the morning.
After the last day of riding we will end at the nights lodging and have our farewell dinner. After breakfast in the morning is the end of the adventure.
  • How far do we ride each day?
We will leave every mooring after breakfast or, depending on the tour, before breakfast with breakfast on the road. Most of the days are around 200 miles, with some in the 250-300 range. If you have arraigned for a long-distance tour, the days could be 500-600. When staying two or more nights in the same location, you may ride with the tour group, ride your own route, or not at all. It will be considered your "off" day to do as you please. After all, it is YOUR vacation.
  • Where will we be Staying?
We have many different places we can stay in, depending on the tour and your budget. While we try to keep cost down, we usually try to find small Inns and B&B's for our accommodations. Sometimes we will book a private cabin for the group. If the tour is a camping tour, we will try to stay at a motorcycle friendly or motorcycle only campground. We will try and avoid chain motels if possible. Whatever the place, we will try to make comfortable and "unique".
  • I already know how to ride, why should I ride with WANDRR Motorcycle Tours?
There are many reasons. One being safety. It is generally safer to ride in a group. You're more likely to be seen as opposed to a lone motorcycle. Also, there are more eyes to watch for potential road hazards and obstacles in your path. And of course there's the camaraderie. Getting to know new people who share your love of motorcycling and the open road. And of course, there's the experience and road knowledge of your WANDRR Motorcycle Tour guides, who can take you down nice sweeping back roads that you may not otherwise find.
  • What kind of bike do you ride?
I am currently riding a 2006 BMW K1200LT and a 2005 Suzuki VStrom 1000
  • I like to explore on my own when I tour; do I need to stay with the group?
On our tours you are always free to travel on your own and at your own pace. The group ride leaves together each morning and you may join it for all day, part of the day or not at all. In any case, you'll benefit from our knowledge of the area, custom ride maps, route sheets and ride suggestions. Dinner and excellent accommodations will be waiting for you at the end of the day so you won't use valuable riding time searching for places to eat and stay. There is a maximum of six motorcycles and 10 people allowed on any tour.
  • What will I need to pay for while on tour?
The cost of getting to the starting point of the tour is not included in the tour price. Lunch meals are not included in the tour prices because riders may end up in several different places at lunch time, depending on whether they decide to ride with the group or explore on their own. Alcoholic beverages are also not included in the tour price. You may enjoy an adult beverage at the end of your days ride. If you will be renting a motorcycle, the cost of the rental and insurance will be at your expense. Any excursion or entry fee will be at your expense. Other than that, gas, incidentals and spending money should be the only other general costs.
  • Do you stop the tour for bad weather?
We ride in all kinds of weather. We will change the route is it is deemed unsafe or if we are advised by authorities that it is unsafe for travel.
  • What should I bring?
Depending on where we are riding, a DOT approved helmet will be required be law. It is also recommended that you use a helmet. Besides that, long pants, over-the ankle boots, gloves, rain gear, motorcycle jacket, depending on the time of year, cold-weather gear, a camera, and clothes for relaxing or swimming at the end of the day.
  • What if I break down? What about a Support Vehicle?
To save on costs, we do not use a support vehicle. We have discovered that we do not generally need or want a support vehicle. Half the fun of motorcycle touring is traveling light, carrying only what you need. Remember, saddlebags can never hold everything you want, but they can hold everything you need. Most of the overnight facilities we will be staying at have laundry facilities so clothes for 3 or 4 days are all that is needed.
We recommend having private towing/breakdown service on your motorcycle to get you to your final destination or catch you up with the group. For an additional cost, a support vehicle can be provided.
  • Safety First
All riders and passengers must read, agree to and sign a waiver form. All riders and passengers must wear a DOT approved helmet in jurisdictions where it  is legally required to do so. We ask that when riding, you obey the law. We ask that you conduct yourself in a manner that never endangers other members of the group. We also insist that you not drink alcoholic beverages until after your motorcycle has been parked for the evening. Absolutely NO alcohol or illegal drug use allowed while riding.  For the safety of you and the group, your riding privileges will be suspended for anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Obey all vehicle laws. Note that any traffic citations you may receive are your responsibility. You must possess a valid motorcycle endorsement on your license, as well as current insurance.
Ride within your limits.
  • Alterations to Tour Schedule
Our tours operate on seasonal basis and where seasonal variances and/or weather conditions cause changes in the tour routing or accommodations, the itinerary will be adjusted accordingly and alternate hotels, restaurants and roads will be used.
  • Minimum Tour Participants
Up to 30 days prior to tour start, WANDRR Motorcycle Tours can cancel a tour if an insufficient number of tour participants have booked and fully paid by that time.
  •  Tour Cancellation
In this case, the customers will be notified forthwith. WANDRR Motorcycle Tours will offer to operate the tour if all customers agree to a supplemental charge due to the low number of tour members. If customers do not accept to pay the supplement, WANDRR Motorcycle Tours  will refund their payment in full, which will constitute the full settlement. WANDRR Motorcycle Tours  is not liable for any additional costs or losses incurred by the tour participant due to WANDRR Motorcycle Tours’s cancellation of tour due to lack of participants. This includes, but is not limited to, the cost of pre-paid airline tickets, hotel reservations and automobile rentals. Situations may arise which, in our opinion, make it necessary for us to cancel, advance or postpone a scheduled tour, change itineraries or make substitutions regarding hotels, cities, tour guides and other travel arrangements. In that event, we do not assume responsibility or liability for any resulting losses, expenses or inconvenience. WANDRR Motorcycle Tours is not required to make refunds once tour commences regardless of the reason for participants being unable to complete his or her tour.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Our reservations are made way in advance, so we can stay at the small Inns and B&B's. The fee for the tour is due 60 days prior to the start of the tour. Cancellations made prior to 60 days before the tour date will receive a full refund. If you need to cancel your tour 30-60 days before the start of the tour, we will refund 50% of the tour price, as long as it has been paid in full by that time. No refunds 30 days or less. If the tour is canceled by WANDRR Motorcycle Tours, we will refund 100% of your tour fee.
Private trip cancellation insurance is available to protect you if you are unable to make the tour.
