I find that it's way past time to get caught up with the adventures of the past year. February found us heading west to Texas with my new to me VStrom 650 that I have purchased to do some off road riding in the TX, AZ, and NM area. After visiting the hill country of Texas we have arrived in Fort Davis, TX, which will be our base for the next couple days. This is a nice little town with a historic downtown area that has a neat B&B called The Veranda with a watering hole upstairs. We took off the next morning on the VStrom headed for Big Bend National Park with a planned stop to see a friend Ara, and his dog, Spirit.  After a personal tragedy Ara left Florida with his dog on his BMW motorcycle/sidecar rig on a personal soul searching journey that has now covered several years of adventure. We finished riding the 100 or so miles to Big Bend enjoyed the scenery into the park. This was one of my national park stops on the way to myIron Butt National Parks tour, which involves going to at least 50 parks in 25 states in one years time. |
