It started out as most trips, we weren't headed there. It was going to be to Nova Scotia after our son Dallas and his wife, Jackie, had their first child, a son which was named Caleb. As our grandson was being born, Melanies' Mom passed away so we detoured to SD for the funeral. Then, as luck would have it, THE storm headed up the coast so we headed to California.

The trip was fantastic with great riding, moderate temperatures, and not much rain. We camped as much as possible and stayed with several members of the Motorcycle Travel Network. Its always great making new friends on the road.
Black Hills Tours/Rocky Mountains

The trip was just amazing. We traveled on the road for 15 days, about 6200 miles, and fantastic weather, except for 105 degrees across South Dakota and Oklahoma. On June 20th we left Fl and returned back on July 5th. Our big stops included Sioux Falls (Hey Vicki and Clint), Deadwood (The crazy gibs of Pierre), 8 passes over 10,000 feet in Colorado, Ouray (a piece a heaven), and Taos. For those of you that couldn't ride with us, you missed a great ride.
